【Braised Tofu with ground pork and fava beans】

This is another delicious and healthy Tofu dish, you may want to try.

Serves: 8 servings
Ingredients:
1) 1 package tofu 908g;
2) 90g ground pork, ½ tsp sesame oil;
3) 580 fresh fava beans (net 160g, skin removed)
4) 2.5 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp freshly minced garlic, 1 tbsp freshly chopped green onion, 2 tsp freshly minced ginger, 1 tbsp spicy soy bean paste;
5) 1 tbsp premium soy sauce, 1 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp Jinglan soy sauce paste, 1/6 tsp chicken broth mix, 1/2 tsp sugar, ¼ tsp salt (optional if your spicy soy bean paste is quite salty) 1/4 cup water;
6) 1 tsp sesame oil .
Directions:
1: Remove shells of fava beans, rinse with cold water and drain, set aside. Place ground pork in a bowl and add 1/2 tsp oil (Picture 1) and mix well with a fork, set aside. Rinse tofu with cold and cut each tofu block horizontally into three equal portions, then cut diagonally into triangles.
2: Heat 1.5 tbsp olive oil in a non-stick sauté pan over high heat. Arrange tofu triangles in the pan (Picture 2), cook for about 3-4 minutes and turn over and cook until golden brown on both sides (Picture 3). Remove from pan and set aside.
3: Heat 1 tbsp oil in the same pan over high heat. Sauté minced garlic, chopped green onion, minced ginger and spicy soy bean paste of Ingredient 4) for 30 seconds (Picture 4). Add fava beans and saute for 1 minute (Picture 6). Add previously cooked tofu (Picture 7) and all ingredients of Ingredient 5) (Picture 8), cover and cook for a few minutes on medium heat.
4: Open the lid and cook on medium-high heat until the sauce has thickened, stir in 1 tsp sesame oil then transfer to a serving plate. Serve with steamed rice.
